About the House
Originally built as a bar with a dance floor in the 1970s, Mühlradl has evolved over the years into a family residence with five holiday apartments for rent, a wellness area with a children's playroom, a reading and music room for social gatherings, and a garden.
Mühlradl Apartments are located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood of Gosau-Hintertal with fantastic alpine views all around. The magnificent Gosaukamm mountain range curtained by the woods dominates the landscape. Fields and pastures, enveloped in the greenery of the forests on the gentle slopes left and right, a lively stream with dozens of smaller brooks and waterways complete the picture of an Alpine mountain valley.
The ski lifts of Dachstein West are reachable within minutes by a free ski bus which stops just in front of the house. Beautiful lake Gosau with an unforgettable view at the Dachstein in the background is less than 4 km away from the house. The summer cable car Gosaukammbahn by the lake takes hikers, climbers and mountain lovers up to the Zwieselalm alpine area. Hallstatt is 15-20 min. away by car.
About our apartments
Featuring five apartments, each individually furnished in a traditional style with personal notes, the house can welcome up to 20 guests. The apartments have everything one might need for an independent and comfortable stay, including a private bathroom and a kitchen.
The apartments with balconies face south and have a fantastic unobstructed view of the Gosaukamm and the unfolding valley with its pastures and woods - green in summer and white and snow-covered in winter.
"Buche"
This lovely apartment on the ground floor features a double bedroom and a living room with a kitchenette which faces south and overlooks the mountains through the garden. The name 'Buche' translates as 'beech wood', one of the most abundant hardwood trees in Austrian forests, and it is a material used for this particular room. Great for a couple or a single traveler. Easy access.
"Zirbe"
Apartment 'Zirbe' on the first floor boasts original wooden panels of Austrian (or biologists would also call it Swiss) stone pine which grows mostly in the European mountains at at least 1,200 meters altitude. From the balcony in the living room one can see the fantastic Gosaukamm mountain panorama, the garden and the pastures. As all our apartments it is equipped with a kitchen.
"Tanne"
Apartment 'Tanne' on the first floor next to apartment 'Zirbe' is special for its fur-tree wooden panels and furniture. A breathtaking clear view of the Gosaukamm mountain range and the alpine panorama win our guests' hearts who return to this particular apartment time and again. Perfect for a couple on a romantic journey as well as for a family of three or four. A cozy kitchen unit allows to cook a snack or a hearty meal.
"Ferienhaus"
This lovely semi-detached holiday apartment with a private entrance, parking lot and a playground in the courtyard can be booked for 4-5 guests. This apartment is particularly popular with families with children or friend groups. Its position in the quiet corner of the property allows more room and privacy, inside and outside. The fireplace in the living room adds to its rustic charm. Two bedrooms - double and twin, a separate kitchen with a dining area, and a roofed patio provide more space for a proper holiday.
"Nesterl"
Literally meaning 'a nest', this apartment under the roof on the top floor is a favourite among our guests for its unobstructed view of the mountains from a spacious balcony and a snug bedroom. The living room combines a kitchenette, a dining area, a small lounging area with a sofa and offers access to the balcony. Bathroom and WC are separate and each features a window.

Do you offer breakfast?We do not, as the apartments are fully self-catering. There are two breakfast cafes in the house, one is 1 km away (Zum Schmez Bakery, former Ze-Cafe) and Cafe-Konditorei Gosinger - about 3,5 km away. You may also consider getting some groceries at the supermarket, the bakery or the local shop (Dorfladen) and enjoy your private breakfast with a stunning mountain view.

We shall probably arrive late in the evening. How can we check in?We shall leave the key for you in the appointed place, so you can pick it up and proceed to your apartment directly.

I arrive by train. How can I get to your house?We can arrange a pick-up service from Steeg-Gosau train station upon request. Please inform us in advance if you need this service. A fee applies. You can also take a post bus (541/42) from Steeg-Gosau directly to the house (about 20 min. drive). Our stop is called Hintertal-Mühlrad. You can buy a ticket from the driver.

What facilities are available for skiing?Dachstein West Ski area is just 750 m away from the house. A free ski bus stop is located in front of the house. There is room for skiing equipment including a ski-shoe drier.

What equipment is there in the kitchen?Our kitchens are equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, dishes, and cutlery. We also provide kitchen towels, dishwasher liquid/tabs, and garbage sacks.

Do the apartments have internet access?WiFi is available on site free of charge.

Is there a balcony or terrace available with the apartments?Yes, apartments Tanne, Zirbe and Nesterl come with a south-facing balcony providing magnificent views of the Gosaukamm. The Ferienhaus - the two-bedroom apartment comes with an east-looking terrace and a roofed patio. There is a sitting area for the ground-floor apartment Buche right in front of the house.

What are the check-in and check-out times at Mühlradl Apartments Gosau?Check-in is available from 4:00 PM, and check-out is until 11:00 AM.

There is a music and reading room with a wide choice of reading material in German and some in English. In the entrance hall of the main building some board games are available and more books for adults and children. We also have a garden in front of the house and outdoor BBQ facilities for our guests to use.
